This is a hell of a game that’s about 28 years old. The game is Transport Tycoon Deluxe. At the time you were on maybe a 386 and if you where lucky a 486 or Cyrix the start of AMD. Underneath is a picture of the GUI oh yes so 90, s but the actual game play is amazing.

The pic shows a railway built between 2 cities. You earn money from carrying passengers. You have Busses, Goods, Tramways Ships and airlines but we just build railways. The game has had a few enhancements. For railways its steam till the late 60’s then a class 37 and 47 become available. Now, the game grows as you play, cities will grow and put strain on your city. Its simple but, would it have been any better built today? A classic game that’s been regenerated is C&C Red Alert. Awful graphics now, but the game play is fantastic. You may have to download a graphics driver but it comes from the developer’s site. Below is a picture of the trains available and the HST and 87 is added later.

Why not give it a try just to see it’s free. You can see the graphics leave a lot to be desired but modern games seem to have lost their way.
